Teheran, reception at the Golestan Palace.
Members of the Diplomatic corps in their gold embroidered ceremonial costumes.
On September 15/16, 1965 the Shah celebrated the 25th anniversary of his accession to power. Throughout the nation there were parades and festivities. Members of the Diplomatic Corps attended a reception at the Golestan Palace, together with the Royal Cabinet and the Court ministers, during which dignitaries and local folk groups were presented to the Shah. On Teheran's "Boulevard Queen Elizabeth II", 16.000 members of the "Army of Knowledge", composed of people who decide to be teachers in villages instead of doing the military service, paraded before the Shah and Queen Farah.
