FRANCE. Seine-Maritime. Esteville. Abbé PIERRE, founder of the French charity organisation EMMAUS, which collects funds, food, and finds homes, to help the poor. He is seen here in the cemetery where he wishes to be buried in the grave with the other founders of EMMAUS and looks at a large crucifixion which was recuperated from a scrap heap during the collection of objects by the Emmaus organisation which they recycle or sell to scrap merchants. 9th January 1994.
