INDIA. Bombay. Over two million spectators crowded the streets during the "Parade of Stars" (a fund raising program). Since 1896 when the Lumiere brothers showed their first film in Bombay, the city became the center of the Indian film industry. Bombay accounts for 30% of the world movie production. It is estimated that 200 movies a year are produced in the Hindi studios of Bombay. 1980.
