Towing of the Hibernia oil platform to the offshore Grand Banks. The floating structure, weighing 600,000 tonnes and 224 metres high, was towed by 9 tugs the 500km journey to its operational destination. Built in Bull Arm, St. John's and designed to withstand the impact of icebergs which are frequently found in the Grand Banks area. 1997.
