ISRAEL. The road between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv which was being built during the war, and was finished 4 days before the cease fire in June 1948 in order to keep Jerusalem supplied with water and food, at a great cost to lives. It was nicknamed "The Burma Road" (an alternate route to Jerusalem)
