Amritsar. The Golden Temple. The Holy Granth Sahib (the only object of worship in a Sikh temple) was written in 1604 by Guru Arjun. It contains hymns, written by Gurus, celebrating Hindu as well as Muslim saints.
An attendant with a fly whisk made with a Yak's tail stands behind the granthi, the reader of the scriptures.
