Robert Capa / International Center of Photography
USA. Calumet City, Illinois. December 1940. On Saturday nights, steel and boiler workers from Hammond and Gary cross the Indiana State border and come to one of the 308 nightclubs and bars, to drink or to watch strip tease shows. The area is known as the "sin city." The son of the bar owner has a soft drink.
