PANAMA: 04/99 Fort Sherman
Jungle Operations Training Battalion with the US and Panamanian flag, in preparation for retirement of colors when US troops move out come June 1999.
Fort Sherman was named and constructed in 1911. In 1914
the first Post Commander arrived at the Fort and formally assumed the defense of the Atlantic entrance of the Panama Canal.
