Bank for the poor. Contingo Bank of Santiago.
In the suburb of Santiago in Chile, in the shantytown of Jose Maria Caro, a group of six french economics are attempting a new way of banking outside the circuit of large banks that would require massive guarantees. In a year and a half, 600 persons have been receiving loans and training to manage a small business such as new recycling and manufacturing home industries.
