The Drug problem with American GI's in Vietnam. 1971
A photo of the urinals which the GI's call "The pee house". This is where addicts are detected prior to their return to the United States (they are obliged to have a urine analysis). From the Boeing of the 173rd US Airborne Division on the base with its 220 GI passengers, 50 were detained because they had been taking drugs during the last five days before their departure. (The analysis procedure is very sensitive and it is hard for an addict to be without drugs for five days).
