China, october 2009. North West of Yunnan province.
Cizhong village, whose majority of inhabitants are Tibetan, often converted to catholicism, due to the historical presence of French and Belgian priests. There is a church led by Father Yao Fei.
Sinam Yangzong, 37, is tibetan and buddhist. According to the tibetan tradition, a woman as well as being married to their partner of choice, may wed their siblings in a polygamous union, in order to keep the patrimony undivided; Yangzong has two husbands, who are brothers. She got two chidren from the eldest one. Both of her husbands are working outside the village, one as sheperd and the other one as mingong in a city. She feels as Chinese and Tibetan at the same time and speaks both languages with her children.
