Last year, 4.000 cases were brought before the special courts for children and young offenders - about 12 a day. Petty theft, prostitution and robbery were the most usual charges. Increase in juvenile crime is due to unsettled conditions.

A 12 year old boy, who has been caught in theft six times, is sentenced to three months in prison.
