Jean Gaumy
March 5 and 6, 2011.
Nuclear submarine (SSBN) nuclear missile launcher Le Terrible.
The submarine departs on its first mission of deterrence.
In the control room where all aspects of submarine navigation are controlled.
In front of each screen work many specialists dedicated to various tasks including navigation, acoustic detection, classification of sounds, etc...
Never forget that a submarine on a deep dive does not see anything, does not use a single antenna for the sake of ensuring discretion and navigates solely based on sonar echoes that it continually collects.
