"Al Rashid" military compound, south-east of Baghdad. Completely destroyed by the coalition air strikes in March 2003, the "Al Rashid" compound has become a large ruin, in which over a thousand Iraqi families from Baghdad's Shi'ite areas and its province live in poverty, among the destroyed buildings. They came here hoping to make money by recycling bricks and metals.
