Beira. Mozambique. This is the patient waiting area at the Munhava Health Clinic (outer edges of Beira). Photographs and videos from here are of the main waiting area, the pre-natal counseling clinic, two patient/nurse consultation in which pregnant patients are tested for HIV and counseled on outcomes, and PMTCT clinic operations. This clinic offers the same type of services (minus the lab facility) as Ponta Gea but supports the suburban area of Beira, ~70,000 people. Kuplumusanna WomenÕs Support Group is based out of this clinic and they work here daily. There is a clinic here designed to treat/educate mothers infected with HIV; this is a good example of PMTCT efforts that are currently in place to protect children from HIV/AIDS.
