MEXICO. Mexico City. Olympic games. American athlete Tommie SMITH, winner of the 200 m, is expulsed from Olympic village for having refused to receive his medal, demonstrating against US race discrimination by clutching his fists on the podium, with a black glove. The second of the race, John CARLOS was expulsed too, for the same reasons. 1968.
