Masoud Ayad, 25 yrs old, is seen in the Zeitoun area, Gaza, Palestine in 2012.
Early in the morning of January 4th, 2009, during the first night of the IDF invasion in the Zeitoun area. At around 5 a.m. Masoud
received a call from the IDF. There was a recording voice saying: "This is the IDF and you have 15 minutes to leave the area". After 60 seconds that he had put the phone down the house was hit by a shell that cutted his arm. He was firstly treated by a
neighborhood doctor, then his smaller brother went nearby to borrow a car to transport him to the hospital. In the meantime there were explosions in that area and Masoud was holding his arm, which was already cut. Finally the car arrived and took him to the Al Quds hospital in Gaza city and then to Shifa hospital. Masoud was the only one in the family that was injured. His family house was completely destroyed on the ground. After the war he got married and now he has two daughters. He is
studying Accounting at the open Al Quds university.
