Hundreds of people work every day at the Chernobyl site. Slavutych is connected to Chernobyl by fifty kilometres of railway lines. Slavutych is a spacious city, built quickly after the accident to replace the dormitory town of Pripyat and accommodate the staff of the nuclear complex. Built in an area spared from radioactive fallout.
