MEXICO. Culiacan. November 30, 2008.
People from all parts of Mexico come to believe that Jesus Malverde, a bandit long dead, performs miracles. With his Robin Hood image, Jesus Malverde became also the patron saint of drug traffickers.
According to the legend, Malverde was hung on May 3, 1909, for banditry -- but historians have found no evidence of his existence.
