Since 1993, between 99 and 109 women have been raped and mudered in and around Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Twelve bodies have been discovered this year alone. Five more women have recently been reported missing. Many of the women have left rural villages to come work in one of Juarez's 400 assembly plants and factories, called maquiladoras, that are scattered around the area.
